*Important announcement!!
April 23, 2017 update - I am sorry to say that I will not be holding my shows this year. I was able to get one date at the fairgrounds that I could have used for the Breyer show. Unfortunately the cost has gone up. They will now charge me commercial rate plus I have to have event insurance. I am not able financially to commit to this, mainly because of my medical issues right now. So 2017 will not have any Red Devil Live shows. I want to thank everyone who offered to help me. I know some people will be disappointed and I am sorry. Hopefully I can bring them back next year, we shall see......
March 25 ,2017 I was not sure if I would hold my shows this year due to some medical issues. I have a worn out knee and now know that I am getting a knee replacement. Date for surgery is May 12. Since I have had many offers of help, I was planning to hold the shows. I contacted the fairgrounds to verify my dates and found out that there are some changes. They have new management, and lots of new processes. The first right of renewal is no longer in effect. So I don't have my dates. I had to submit an event reservation request. There is a weekly "team" meeting to review the applications. I have gotten email and spoke to a "team member" but still don't have any definite answers. They contradict each other. The team members are not on the same page, and I can't just speak to one and get a straight answer about what dates are available. I will keep trying....... ugh.
July 29, 2016 update -
So only a week to go until the Breyer show!! I've been getting things organized. Today I ordered rosettes for the overall champions and reserves! The divisional champs/reserves will get certificates, as will the color champs (if we get to them, hopefully). I looked into getting small rosettes for the divisional champs, but there are too many and it is too costly. I had to pay extra to rush these since I decided to do this only a week before the show..... hopefully they get here in time. :) The Stone/china show is also getting rosettes for overall champs/reserves.
June 2016 - the new show packets are now available. Please read these carefully, there are changes. One major change is that breed classes and collectability classes will be held together. There will be two judges for each class, one for breed and one for collectability. This will be done for the Breyer traditional/classic division and for the Stone traditional division. The mini divisions and china divisions will not be run this way. This is a "test" this year, to see how it goes and how much time it saves. Also there is no youth division in Breyer this year, sorry.
June 2016 - Both shows are now NAMHSA approved member shows! There will be lots of NAN cards to earn!
February 2016 - I will be holding this show again this year, on August 6, 2016. The location at the fairgrounds is booked. I will be making some changes to the classlist. I am considering holding the breed classes and collectability classes concurrently. There would be separate judges, and they would judge each class based on their respective criteria. I am not really fond of this idea, but it would be a huge time saver. And this show has gotten so big that it runs really late, too late.... I will post updates and the new classlist once I have things finalized. I also will be applying for NAMHSA membership. This means that all 1st and 2nd placing horses would receive a NAN card and be eligible to enter NAN (North American Nationals). The eligibility would be for 2017 - 2020. NAN cards are also good towards merit awards. See below for the link to the NAMHSA website, for further information.
My other show is Red Devil Live OF China/resin OF Stone plus Custom Glazed classes, to be held on August 20, 2016, in the same location. This show will also apply to be an approved NAMHSA member show, meaning all 1st and 2nd placing horses will earn NAN cards. This show also offers many classes in many divisions in both breed and collectibility! One horse can potentially earn up to three NAN cards!
